Excited to share that Nostalgie - directed by Kathryn Ferguson, will premiere in the short film competition at BFI London Film Festival next month. Set in Belfast, Nostalgie explores memory, identity, and the lingering disconnect between Northern Ireland and England. It’s a film about what endures and what gets forgotten. Written by Stacey Gregg, from a story by Wendy Erskine. Starring Aidan Gillen, and featuring Jessica Reynolds, Seamus O’Hara, Sean Kearns & Michael Smiley. Produced by Kath Mattock, Marie-Thérése Mackle and Marc Robinson. Production Companies: Globe Originals, Hopefield, Film4, Stille Productions and Tara Films. Shot by Robbie Ryan. Tara Films is a production company helmed by BIFA winning, Emmy and PGA nominated filmmakers @kathrynferguson and @eleanor_emptage The company’s first venture began in 2018 with their debut project Nothing Compares - a documentary about the artist Sinéad O’Connor. Nothing Compares premiered at @sundanceorg (World Cinema Documentary Competition) in January 2022 to critical acclaim, and went on to win multiple international awards. In 2024, we are thrilled to unveil a new slate of non-fiction and drama projects, starting with Blue Road - The Edna O’Brien Story, which Tara Co-Produced with support from the UK Global Screen Fund. The film is directed by @sineadeoshea and will premiere at @tiff_net this weekend. Tara is committed to making inspiring, cinematic work that sits at the intersection of the personal and the political. From stories about cultural icons, to life changing events, we look to shine a light on underrepresented voices and to make films that matter. New projects to be announced soon.
